These are just bits of prose/ streams of conscienceness I have written over these months and some pictures I took(though the prose and the pictures may not be related). These are based on various experiences and now they are here. Enjoy!

Questions to the Universe

She stared up and wondered, “What are you thinking?”

The universe answered with a chuckle and a mischievous smile, “Just be patient. It might not make sense, but you know it would’ve been boring if it did… Just take in the adventure.”

Slow Season

I should’ve been outta here already, she thought as she stares out to the empty store, the days leading up to the new year blending together. She expected to have had a research job by now, she did the work, did the apps, the networking…

But maybe, it was because she got too comfortable, so August turned to December. Or maybe she missed the mark ever so slightly. She didn’t know. Or at this point, didn’t care.

All she knew was that the motivation was slim and the task ever daunting.

She was supposed to fill out another app…she said this every day and nowadays she was lucky if she could get it done.

She heaved a heavy sigh. At least it was empty. She didn’t have to deal with as many people, but people still sucked, especially here.

“I just hope I’m not here when it picks up again…”

It Picks Up…

Welp… the busy season is back. Broken mowers, grass bags, umbrellas, etc. are back at the returns desk. As well as ice cream cake. Another celebration for someone else leaving.
Someone who has been there a long time. Don’t blame them. It was then one of the newbies interrupted my thoughts, “I wonder who is going to quit next.”

“Me too,” I sighed. Though secretly I wished and hoped that a better opportunity was on the horizon because I was beginning to think I have overstayed my welcome.

Grey Skies, Blue Eyes

See, work was hard enough, but my favorite people started to leave. That’s the thing about working retail for almost a year, you see so many people come and go that they all blur together.

Not you though.

Those piercing blue eyes still haunt my thoughts. Not because it was a work crush, though it was, but because I felt the missed chance to get to know them. And now the unanswered question tugs at my brain like a word lost on the tip of my tongue.

Mind Cottage

For a brief moment, my mind transported me far away…

The destination was perhaps fantasy and during a time long forgotten, but it was peaceful. It hadn’t happen in a long time… to be honest I couldn’t remember the last time it did. I guess it was because I got so caught up in the dreariness of reality that it crept up into my space, closing me off from the whimsical, the seemingly impossible.

But , I was in a little cabin in a mythical wood, where the birds sang beautiful melodies and the air was saturated with magic. I was at peace as my gemstone tree glistened in the candle light, while I wrote novels and poetry instead of cover letters and job applications.

I missed this corner of my mind, where I just created for hours and got lost.
